I hope that you are having a wonderful day no matter where you are in the world. Well so far this week I have been working on my sci fi story and just yesterday I finally started work on a quotations book. I have always wanted to create such a book. Now I am going to actually do it.
Though I am not sure of the legal side of things. I am not sure how I would give credit to the authors in a legal sense so I would not get sued by anyone. I will ask the people in my writers group about that. Otherwise I am going to get right on it.
Check that, I just did a little research on the subject and I found out that if the quote was said or published before 1922 then I should be ok. Anything after that I would and should get permission to publish that quote. In any case I probably should schedule something with an expert on this sort of thing.
I am still waiting on Three Minute Fiction to start Round 8 of their contest. It should be starting soon. I am also working on a short sci fi story for the Drabble cast people. I hope to have that finished very soon and submitted but first I would like to have it critiqued by my critique group before I do anything along the line of submitting.
Well that is it for now so until we meet again… William out.
P.S. I am working on my blogs as well. I do appreciate any comments from you guys!
“I’m writing an unauthorized autobiography.” – Steven Wright
Maybe I should too! LOL! Until next time…William out.
P.S. As you may have noticed I post a lot of quotes here and my other blog Cool Quotes, Famous Quotes. I am pulling together various different quotes for a quotes book project I am working on. So far it has been fun! Well until next time…William out.
of my sci fi story now. It will be a time travel tale. The story is about one who discovers that his experimental time project, which he spent most of his life working on, is going to lose funding from the U.S government. So to stop that he takes matters into his own hands with interesting results. In any case I have started on that and so far it has been fun.
I am still waiting for the writing prompt from Three Minute Fiction. That should start very shortly. I have set a goal of writing at least one piece of sci fi short fiction every week so that when a writing competition comes up that genre I have somthing to submit. I also will submit some shorts to the Drabblecast site and see how well I do. You never know!
Also I will be checking the Writer Market to see what if any markets I can submit to as well. It is an on going process this thinb called writing. I am in to stay all the way. When I sit down to write it simply frees my soul. There is nothing quite like it. Well I have to go for now. So until next time… William out.
I just thought i would drop on by and see what is going on! i am continuing to write a new novel these days and today is no different. Well it itime for me to eat right now. I will post again later on today.. So until next time William out…
I am a drinker with writing problems. — Brendan Behan
the critique group meeting I attended this past Thursday was very good. I received some very good advice about my writing as well as getting praise for my dialogue. I will keep on improving as a writer. I am still committed to getting my sic fi novel out, but I do believe that I am going to shelve the current story, (Too much Start Trek like) and start writing another.
Now mind you I have not gotten rid of the Star Trek like story all together, it is just being put on the back burner while I work on something new. I hate to do all the work and then have some publisher tell me it is too much like Star Trek. Well anyway I learned a lot this week. I am still going to have a first draft done but it will be on a different story.
I along with a lot of other people are awaiting Round 8 of Three Minute Fiction. They said it would start this month. Like I said I am looking forward to the contest coming out. Later on this spring (Starting in a March timeframe) will be Cheerios Spoonful of Stories. I am looking forward to that as well. It should be a lot of fun. This weekend I entered the Necone E books flash fiction contest. It too was a lot of fun. I will be entering that contest as many times as I can. The story that I entered was of course a horror story. I hope to get published in their 2012 anthology.
Well it is time for me to run so until next time…William out.
The art of writing is the art of discovering what you believe. — Gustave Flaubert — French Writer and great Western Novelist — (1821-1880)
I do believe that the above quote is very true. Everytime I write, I cast off the ropes and set myself on a journey of discovery. Until nrxt time… William out!
