Hello Fellow a writers!

I am sorry I’ve not written in a while. The reason being is I could not find the original app I was using to write my story Well no more! I found that app and I am writing again! Of course all the stuff I did before, is gone. But I don’t care. In writing  the writer does throw out a lot of stuff and I’m no different. The important thing I’d I’m writing again. Woohoo!

My family was good enough to get mr a kingle HD Fire for Christmas and I have been using ever since for entertainment and educational purposes. The Author Willian Bernhardt gas several good books of which Idownloaded 2 of them. They are…creating Character, Bringing Your Dtory To Kife and Perfecting Plot, Charting Thr Hero’s Journey.

Both are really good books and I highly recommend them. You can download  them yo your Kingle from Amazon. I also gotKee Chikd’s “killing Floor” from Amazon. That book is really good too! Lee Child is a very good Author.

So now that I am back in yje hunt again, I have doing character detail sheets, first draft outlinrs, story premises and work on my “how to” book. It feels great to be back in the saddle again.

I am not sure if the Cheerios Spoonful of Stories is going to be done this year. I hope it will be. It is fun to do and a great opportunity for an un published writer. I will check out Necon Ebooks tonight to see what is going on there. I will be looking up othrt things as well. So until next time…William out!

Writing is Good For the Soul!

Actually re-blogging is also good for the soul. This is a change from what I usually post. The reason why I am doing this? Change. Change is good for the soul. It also makes my blog more unpredictable and fresh. I also hope that it will bring in new readers as well.

Another reason why I re-blogged Alayne Christian’s Sub Six Series post is not only does she have a great blog, but it is where I found out that the Cheerios contest is not going to be held this year. 😦 Oh well maybe next year. One thing is for sure. You can go to Alayne’s site and find information regarding submissions to various contests. Here is her site URL http://www.alaynekayechristian.wordpress.com. You can copy and paste this into your address bar.

On another note I have been busy with my sci-fi story. That is always fun. I changed the story title from “A Change in Time” to “Time After Time”. The new title more accurately reflects the storyline itself and so hence the title change. I knew I was having some difficulty writing the story and I think the new title will help things. Well it is time for me to move on so until next time…William out!

Hello Fellow Writers!

Once again it is yours truly William here. I hope that your week is going well. Usually I post one week apart or when I have something to write about. I am posting a little early this week. Which is not a bad thing. Just finished watching the American Idol grand finale in which Caleb Johnson won. I had an idea that he would win. I am sure that Jenna Irene will do well as she is quite talented.

I have been checking the Cheerios site and so far no dice. But I will keep on checking to see if the site goes live. I have and will continue to write children’s stories so I can submit them when the contest starts. I will be submitting to Necone Ebooks for this months 100 word contest. The theme for May is…What’s in your playlist? I will get to work on that soon, I have been working on my sci-fi story as well. This leads to me to my next topic…

I found a good writing educational blog site called Storyfix.com. I was having a problem with my sci-fi story plot structure. This site helped me to understand the nature of my problem. There is good deal of information about plot structure. So I recommend you guys check it out and see what you think. Well it is time I get back to my other writing projects…So until next time…William out!

It is late in the evening…

and here I am typing away on the iPad. I have been working on the sci-fi story, writing scenes that are approaching plot point two. Plot point two being the point where the protagonist changes from being reactive to proactive. I have rewritten about 5000 words so far. I plan to close in on ten thousand by the next Wellington Critique group meeting.

I also want to write a couple os children’s stories and have them ready for submission. At least that is what the plan is for now. Now on a different note, today is my mothers birthday and she 86 years young! We had the family get together yesterday at the local Longhorns. We sure did have fun!

Sorry about the multiple updates. I just updated the app and I am still getting used to it! Well I have to go now. I have more writing to do and I have a comment to look at. So until next time…William out!

Writing is sometimes a blessing, sometimes a curse, but always fun and interesting!

The title of this post does say it all. Hello fellow writers. I hope that your Friday evening is going well. My day started real early this morning when I arrived at my neural ophthalmologist. 7:30 am. Yeah I’m not a morning person! My sister drove me to the office and I managed to drag myself into the place drinking as much caffeine as I could. I didn’t get much sleep the night before.

I had to go to this place because my cataract surgeon saw something and recommended I see the ophthalmologist before she does any surgery to remove scar tissue on the left eye. We tested my vision and the tests showed that it has been stabilized for the past 6 months. The doctor said I could go ahead and have the surgery to clear up the scar tissue in the eye and keep watch over a small problem that was detected. So blood work was done and I am going to do another MRI. I hate doing MRI’s. Now don’t get me wrong. I know they are an important diagnostic tool. I just hate the noise , having to lie still for 60 minutes, and having the head enclosed in steel. Other than that I’m fine! Oh well life is a bitch and I have to deal with this. Enough about me and on to the writing!

I posted a Mark Twain quote on my Cool Quotes Famous Quotes blog. This quote has to about acknowledging fault…

Always acknowledge a fault. This will throw those in authority off their guard and give you an opportunity to commit more.
Mark Twain
US humorist, novelist, short story author, & wit (1835 – 1910)

I thought it is pretty cool! I have been and after this post will continue to work on my sci-fi and how to projects. Also I have been looking at the Cheerios Spoonful of Stories site to see when the new contest will start. Once it does start I will let you guys know here on the blog.

I am approaching plot point two in my sci-fi story. Plot point two is usually the second reveal of information that helps the protagonist in his, her, or it’s goal to beat the antagonists plans. Plot point two is when the protagonist learns something that is vital about the antagonist that allows the protagonist to shift from being reactive to pro-active. Before this the protagonist knew what had to be done, but had no clue how to do it. This plot point reveal helps to change that.

Well that’s it for me this week and so until next time…William out!

Hello fellow writers!

I hope that your evening is going well and that you guys are writing plenty of prose. Just thought I would let you know that my father came home last week and he is doing real well. Thank God for small favors! He has a therapist come at least once a week to help him with the exercise. Once again I thank the Good Lord for making sure that Dad is alive and kicking!

This week I have been writing plot point one in my sci-fi story “A Change in Time.” Now if the “Inciting Incident” is the point where the protagonist is forced to act, then plot point one supplies the story question or goal. Plot point one is at the end of Act one. And is the doorway to the rest of the story.

So plot point one is the point of no return. It is the point where the protagonist is given the motivation and the goal to which he, she or it will strive to achieve. In my case the goal is two fold. The first is to restore the timeline and in so doing achieves the second part which is to restore humanity. The ramifications of failure? No more humanity! Just that alone would give the protagonist enough motivation to get the job done.

So that is what I have been doing along with posting here and my “Cool Quotes Famous Quotes” blog. This week I also wrote some song lyrics. How about that? I haven’t done that in a while. I am letting some ideas stew inside my head regarding the Cheerios Spoonful of Stories contest that should start pretty soon. And of course I need to do some research as well.

The Wellington Critique group meeting is coming on March 6th. I am getting ready for that occasion as well. I do miss the Boca Raton critique group meetings and I hope that some time soon I will be able to go there. So right now I want to go on and achieve my other writing goals for tonight. So until next time…William out!

happy Valentines Day!

Well it is not quite Valentines Day here yet. But by the time some of guys read this post it will be. So may I wish all those who are in love this day, a wonderful and happy day. You guys deserve it!

Just wanted to tell you guys that my father will be getting out of rehab tomorrow. I know that he is looking very much forward to going home. As I have said in past postings, I am very lucky to still have him around. I am very blessed indeed.

I have been working on my sci-fi story “A Change in Time.” I am making changes to the story based on suggestions from my fellow writers at the Wellington critique group meeting. In fact after I do this posting, I will get on my laptop and do more work.

Also on the list of things to do are…
1. Work on the “How To” book.
2. Write some song lyrics. (I have not done that in a while.)
3. Begin to write some children’s stories for the Cheerios Spoonful of Stories
Contest,
4. Post a quote to my other wordpress blog, Cool Quotes Famous Quotes.
5. Get some research done so I can submit to other places.

I would like to write about the Inciting incident, whic is what I am sprucing up right now. To me the inciting inciting is a moment in the story where the protagonist ieither forced to c through circumstance or the protagonist (He, she or it.) effects the change. In either case, that is what propels the story to it’ end, I think I given the example Luke Skywalker being perfectly content to farm with his relatives until the Imperial come and kill them, destroying the farm in the process. Luke then joins the rebellion and the rest history. In any case the inciting incident is all about change. That is what I wanted to get across.

Well enough blathering on my part! I have to get back to the work at hand. So until next time…William out!
