Still waiting for that writing prompt…

from Three-Minute Fiction here. They keep on telling us to be patient and I myslef will. It should be a lot of fun. I am working on 2 children story ideas along with my Sci-fi short stoyr of which I shall read at the end of the week to my critique group. That is about all for now so until next time. William out.

Going to my critique group…

meeting on August 4th 2011. I hope to have my sci-fi short story done by then for them to critique. Then like I have mentioned before I will submit the story. Still wating on that writing prompt from Three-Minute Fiction. And last but not least I have a few new ideas on writing a childrens picture book. I think that the characters in childrens picture book will be a cast of insects trying to find their way in life. Until then see you later. William out.

Hello people!

Well so far the writing on the sci-fi short story is going well. I hope that most of it will be done by the end of the week. I also have some ideas pop into my head about writing another children’s picture book story. The main character in the children’s picture book story will be an insect. It seems that children have an interest in insects and other life forms. So why not tap into that interest? Or who knows maybe my next sci-fi protaganist is an insect based alien life form assigned to protect Earth from invasion. The alien may not like the humans that live here but has an affinity for all the insect life forms here on planet Earth. Or I could change the current bad guy in my sci-fi short story to be an insect like alien shape shifter from the future sent back to destroy mankind!

It is interesting how things can pop into one’s mind while writing. I think that just getting in front of the computer and pounding on the keys helps to inspire a person’s muse or imagination. That is why I like to post here. If I have trouble with writer’s block I can come here and write until the problem is resolved. Well on to writing that next story! Feel free to comment! I will get back to writing the sci-fi short story. At least I have ideas put down on paper. I can start to tweak those ideas. Well did some work on the sci fi short story again….

At least I have something down on my laptop. Sometimes the hardest part about writing is getting over the blank screen in front of me! Like I said before it is time travel tale where the antagonist (a shape shifting alien) goes back in time to change Earths past. Of course the protagonist ( a human) must stop this or all of mankind is in peril. At least right now I have something to read to my critique come next meeting. As I said before I will take their suggestions and incorporate where I can. Then I will do some last minute reading and revising before I submit the story. I hope that I do well. So until next time. Well let’s get this party rolling here…

I have started my sci-fi short story. I got a few lines down.  A little later today I will keep on working on it. I would like to have something to read to my critique later on this week. Writing can be such a challenge. But then that is why I like doing it. It is for the challenge of it that I do the writing. I do like writing sci fi but I think I will get into writing some other genres as well. So far I am writing a tale that has a time travel element to it. Well I have to go for now. So until next time. Patience, patience indeed.

A lot of people, myself included are waiting for the writing prompt to round 7 of the Three-Minute Fiction contest. It should be fun once it starts. I am still working on other project as well. I must be ready in 2 weeks to have something readable for my critique group. Then afterwards I will seek to include any suggestions that are made into my work and get it ready for submission to the Writer’s Digest Sci-fi short story contest. Well I have to go for now. Getting started with my muse…

I am in the middle of designing a sci-fi short story that will be submitted to a Writer’s Digest Sci-fi short story competition. The contest ends Sept 15th so I had better get cracking on this. I will also be participating in the Three-Minute Fiction contest coming up as well as looking into other contests and magazines that I may want to submit too. Regarding the Three-Minute Fiction contest it was recently posted on their facebook page that they have an author that will be the judge for round 7. I am looking forward to this competion. Did some research tonight…

over at WritersDigest.com/competitions. This will be one of the areas that I will be submitting to. Three-Minute Fiction will be one of many others.
