Reflections of a writers mind…

1. Update character profile.

2. Update Setting sketch.

3. Update first draft outline.

4. Write then rewrite.

5. Rewrite the rewrite.

6. Or just keep on writing.

7. Scratch head when no ideas come.

8. Bang head on wall when no ideas come.

8a.  Wipe sweat off of brow.

9. Rush to computer to start typing when ideas do come.

10 Ideas that looked good when you first thought of them now don’t look so good on the computer screen.

11. Back to the drawing board, or my case the notebook or laptop.

12. Re-imagine first ideas and now they look better.

13. Keep on tweaking those ideas.

14. Organize those ideas for future reference.

15. It is getting late in the evening so it is time to close shop.

16. Realize that you moved forward in your work.

17. Get some sleep you’ll need it.

18. Tomorrow do it all again.

19. That is because you and I will never stop writing.

20. Ever!

Until next time William out!

Writerly goals…

for this week include posting here, write some more poetry for the chapbook, add some scenes to chapter one of my time travel story, organize the markets that I will be submitting to, reading books in the genre I want to write in. On the last thing I bought some chidren’s books  “Lady Bug Girl” by David Soman and Jackie Davis and old children’s book classic “Goodnight Moon” by Margaret Wise Brown. This is so I can a feel for what is out there. I am also reading “Timeline” by Michael Crichton. Good stories indeed!

When I start typing the next scenes to the time travel story I am just going to let the imagination take me where ever it may go. I have tried mapping out stories and so far it does not seem to be my way of working. Now don’t think I will not try that strategy again in the future because I nevery know when it may work for me!.

But the most important thing is to keep on writing no matter what! Now that I have cast the  demons from my body that made me sick, I will keep on writing! As was once said by a very brave sailor, “Damn the torpedoes! Full speed ahead!” Well that is my motto for the moment. That and eating a Russo’s tuna sub! Umm Umm Yummy! Sometimes you just have to treat yourself in life.

So now I am going to treat myself to some writing! So until next time everyone…William out!

P.S.

Oh and I did forget that at some point I am going to ask info about copywrights information regarding my quotes book. It seems like their several quotes books out there and I would like to join them!

Just thought I would let you guys know…

that I have been sick for a while. But now I am getting better. So I resuming my writing! It does get tough to write when your body is not into it. But like I said before I am getting now that I have conquered the demons that have been invading my body these past few weeks. Let’s just say they are being cast out as I speak! He he. Well that is the horror in me!

I entered the Three Minute Fiction contest. That was fun. I look forward to doing that again. I have not updated my sci fi story due again to the aformentioned illness but that will change soon. Before I got sick I was doing a little research about current children’s stories so when the Cheerious Spoonful of Stories contest starts I will be ready for it. I hope that it will start soon.

I have been writing some haiku and other poetic forms and putting them in my chapbook. It is with the idea that sometime in the near future I will publish that. It is fun putting together a chapbook. I am also thinking of putting together a quotes book, but the thing that is holding me back is the copyright issue. I certainly don’t want to get sued. That is for sure. I have been trying to do some research on what I can publish and can’t publish, but so far I have only found gibberish. That is the internet for you!

It is getting a little late so I will have to retire soon. It is so nice to be able to update this blog again. So until next time…William out.

I went to my critique group meeting…

yeseterday. It turned out quite good. He he I started to read my submission to Three Minute Fiction and found out that I had the wrong file! Oh well… I ended up reading some of my haiku in my poetry chap book. That was a blast. I got really good reviews from that.

Now today I am writing to you guys from the chemotherapy ward at the Palm Beach Cancer Institute. You see I am getting an infusion to help boost my immune system. Last time I had this done I got a rather bad reaction. Which of course the nurses took care of immediately. They gave me some demoral which stopped my shaking. Well this time so far so good. I hope that it stays that way.

Like I said before I submitted to Three Minute fiction. That was fun to do.  I am looking forward to the Cheerios Spoonful of Stories contest soon.I have been checking that site out to see if a new contest has started. So far it has not.

Just thought I would let you guys know that the reason why I have not posted here is that I have been sick with a lung infection and the doctors have said that there maybe something more going on. That is why I am here in the chemo ward. I hope that the dreaded c disease has not come back, but if it did I am ready to fight it again!

Well I have to go for now. I will post here again soon. I will let you guys know how things turned out. So until next time William out…
