Good evening people…

I hope that your evening is going quite well. Mine sure is… I have been working on some children’s stories the past few weeks and today was/is no exception. I will be submitting another story tonight to the Cheerios Spoonful of Stories contest and then work on my final children’s story as the end of the contest is coming up…July 31st. It has been fun submitting these stories.

Mow of course my other writer goals will be to post here, write at least 3 poems, o some work on my sci-fi novel and do some reading of Rik Feeneys book “Writing Books For Fun, Fame, and Fortune.” I have said in the past that this book by Mr. Feeney is quite good and people who are considering writing a non=fiction book, just to keep some money coming in before that big contract comes, should check the book out. After some of the techniques that are taught to put a non-fiction book together could be used for fiction books as well.

Yeah speakigood thating of which I have not worked on the Sc-Fi story in a while, but that is a thing tool At least I will come back to it with a fresh mind. Started to get a little fuzzy in the mind regarding that situation. So I took a little time off from that project. Writing can be fun, great or absolute hell depending on the situation. But I always feel like I accomplished something when I achieve my goals. And so with that in mind I will go on to my other writing goals now…So until next time… William out!

Starting my immunotherapy today!

It’s going to be a long, long day! So far this week I have written another children’s story for the Cheerios Spoonful of Stories contest, I will submit these stories soon after the critique group meeting this coming Thursday.

So far I have learning about how to post articles on Hubpages. It is an interesting site and I would like to learn more about it before I start to do anything with it. In my opinion there is somewhat of a learning curve with this. So today I will be looking at that site. I downloaded some books on Hubpages, so I will be looking at them,

I just got through taking the Benadryl and now it’s on to the gamma globulin! You see the cancer (Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma) I was diagnosed with damaged my immune system and so I have to undergo these periodic treatments to fully restore my immune system. It’s a long process but very well needed. Sometimes I have are reaction to the medicine. My immune system doesn’t like getting a kick in the ass, but it needs it!

Writing goals for today consist of posting here, writing some poetry, taking a look at the children’s stories and taking a peek at the sci-fi story! So I had better get moving on this. So until next time…William out!!

Good evening people!

I trust that you guys are having a wonderful weekend! I know I am! Just thought I would let you guys know that I didn’t attend the Boca Raton critique group meeting. Instead I opted to have dinner with the parents this past Thursday, I will make every effort to be at the Wellington meeting this June 6th, as that will be the last meeting for a couple of months, and I would like to have a couple of my Cheerios Spoonful of Stories submissions critiqued.

Basically I have been working on the children’s contest for the past few days, Sometimes I would do well and then there are times when that ugly writer’s block would rear it’s head and just like any pro athlete that has nagging injuries, I work through it! I haven’t forgotten my sci-fi novel, though it is somewhat on the back burner right now until the children’s contest is over. Boy it would be real nice if I won that!

I have been writing some poetry as well! I swore I would write at least a minimum of three a night , but that can be difficult if I was to write conventional poetry. Enter Haiku ideas! And that is how I achieve the poetry goals.

I’m still checking out Hubpages. I haven’t done anything with them yet until I know more about the taxes that I would need to pay. This would be both income and Social Security taxes. I want to do this right so I’m taking my time on that. And speaking of time…I need to get back to the other writing projects. So until next time…William out!

I have been working on my…

Cheerios Spoonful of Stories submission these past few days and I believe it’s ready to be submitted. Still though I would like a fresh set of eyes and ears to take a look at it before I submit I’d like to get someone else’s unbiased take and input on it. Which is why I think I will wait until after next weeks critique group meeting in Boca Raton to make my submission.

In the meantime I could start on another story and get it ready to be read as well. That way I could kill two birds with one stone! Yeah I think that’s what I will do! There really is no hurry to submit as I have until the end of July, and I would like to be able to submit the best work possible. So for right now my goals are to tweak the first story and get to work on the second!

Now I haven’t worked much on the sci-fi story as of late, but that is a good thing, because I can come back to that refreshed. Besides, “Star Trek: Into The Darkness” will be in theaters next week and maybe that will fuel the creative fires in me! And speaking of fueling the fires, I had better get back to writing! So until next time…William out!

Yesterdays critique group meeting…

in Wellington was quite good and though I did not get a chance to read, it was an educational experience. My friend Caryn hosted the meeting. Rik Feeney was the guest speaker at the =vent and he covered a great deal of topics regarding the writing industry as a whole. If you want more information about Rik here is his web site OnlinePublishingSucess.com. You will not go wrong if you go there. There is a lot of good information for up and coming writers. Basically the meeting was very good indeed and my friend Caryn did a great job in hosting it for all of us. Kudos to you Caryn!

Since I did not read my children’s story I will not submit it just yet as I feel the need to sit back and relax a bit and then read over the story and maybe add a few words. Along with that project I created a new title for the next  children’s submission story. Right now I won’t post that title here just in case I would be violating any contest rules. That is last thing that I would need right now is to goof that up!

Well I had better  get on with the other things that I need to do. So until next time…William out!

Very shortly…

I will be going to my critique group meeting in Wellington. Hopefully I will get a chance to read my children’s story I have created for the Cheerios Spoonful of Stories contest. It is fun writing these stories and so I hope that I do well. Once again I would like to give a shout out to Ron Rauss. I just wanted to thank him for the kind words of encouragement.

I will let you guys know how the meeting went later on today or tomorrow. My plan for tonight is to read the story and get suggestions for improving the story, implement those suggestion where I can, and then submit the story with said improvements. At least that is the plan.

Of course that is depending on the weather again! As of the time of this writing there is a raging thunderstorm overhead. I can hear the thunder and the rain. It is my hope that things will abate come time for me to drive over to the Wellington library. Well I have to for now. So until next time…William out!

Good evening everyone!

My goals for writing during the next few weeks have changed. You see the Cheerios Spoonful of Stories contest is starting this May 1st and so that is where my focus is going to be. I have entered this contest before and to tell the truth is quite fun to do and it really is an opportunity for unpublished authors like myself. Don’t get me wrong I will harken back to my sci-fi story in due time. Sometimes it’s good to take a break from one project in order to be able to come back to said project with fresh eyes. Also I like to give myself a shot at the $5000 dollar prize and a publishing contract with Simon and Schuster.

I will keep on writing my poetry as well as post here to let you guys know what is happening. Now if any of you people are interested in this contest, here is the link… If some of you guys enter, then I sincerely wish you the best of luck. This is a very popular contest for the obvious reasons. I wanted to thank Ron Rauss for his very nice and encouraging comments regarding the contest. He mentioned that it is a great experience to enter and even more special to win it!  Ron should know because he is the 2010 Cheerios Spoonful of Stories winner with his story “Can I Just Take a Nap?” If you would like more information about him here is the link.

Now since the contest is due to start in about 6 days it be best that I start writing now as I would like to have something ready to go when the contest starts. So until next time…William out!

Writerly goals…

for this week include posting here, write some more poetry for the chapbook, add some scenes to chapter one of my time travel story, organize the markets that I will be submitting to, reading books in the genre I want to write in. On the last thing I bought some chidren’s books  “Lady Bug Girl” by David Soman and Jackie Davis and old children’s book classic “Goodnight Moon” by Margaret Wise Brown. This is so I can a feel for what is out there. I am also reading “Timeline” by Michael Crichton. Good stories indeed!

When I start typing the next scenes to the time travel story I am just going to let the imagination take me where ever it may go. I have tried mapping out stories and so far it does not seem to be my way of working. Now don’t think I will not try that strategy again in the future because I nevery know when it may work for me!.

But the most important thing is to keep on writing no matter what! Now that I have cast the  demons from my body that made me sick, I will keep on writing! As was once said by a very brave sailor, “Damn the torpedoes! Full speed ahead!” Well that is my motto for the moment. That and eating a Russo’s tuna sub! Umm Umm Yummy! Sometimes you just have to treat yourself in life.

So now I am going to treat myself to some writing! So until next time everyone…William out!

P.S.

Oh and I did forget that at some point I am going to ask info about copywrights information regarding my quotes book. It seems like their several quotes books out there and I would like to join them!
