Good evening people…

I hope that your evening is going quite well. Mine sure is… I have been working on some children’s stories the past few weeks and today was/is no exception. I will be submitting another story tonight to the Cheerios Spoonful of Stories contest and then work on my final children’s story as the end of the contest is coming up…July 31st. It has been fun submitting these stories.

Mow of course my other writer goals will be to post here, write at least 3 poems, o some work on my sci-fi novel and do some reading of Rik Feeneys book “Writing Books For Fun, Fame, and Fortune.” I have said in the past that this book by Mr. Feeney is quite good and people who are considering writing a non=fiction book, just to keep some money coming in before that big contract comes, should check the book out. After some of the techniques that are taught to put a non-fiction book together could be used for fiction books as well.

Yeah speakigood thating of which I have not worked on the Sc-Fi story in a while, but that is a thing tool At least I will come back to it with a fresh mind. Started to get a little fuzzy in the mind regarding that situation. So I took a little time off from that project. Writing can be fun, great or absolute hell depending on the situation. But I always feel like I accomplished something when I achieve my goals. And so with that in mind I will go on to my other writing goals now…So until next time… William out!

Yesterdays critique group meeting…

in Wellington was quite good and though I did not get a chance to read, it was an educational experience. My friend Caryn hosted the meeting. Rik Feeney was the guest speaker at the =vent and he covered a great deal of topics regarding the writing industry as a whole. If you want more information about Rik here is his web site OnlinePublishingSucess.com. You will not go wrong if you go there. There is a lot of good information for up and coming writers. Basically the meeting was very good indeed and my friend Caryn did a great job in hosting it for all of us. Kudos to you Caryn!

Since I did not read my children’s story I will not submit it just yet as I feel the need to sit back and relax a bit and then read over the story and maybe add a few words. Along with that project I created a new title for the next  children’s submission story. Right now I won’t post that title here just in case I would be violating any contest rules. That is last thing that I would need right now is to goof that up!

Well I had better  get on with the other things that I need to do. So until next time…William out!

Good evening…

Once again I hope that your evening is going well and that you guys are typing away on your laptops. Yesterday I went to the Boca Raton critique group meeting. The guest lecturer was Rik Feeney. Mr. Feeney is an expert on marketing you finished book. I must say I was quite impressed with the lecture itself. He talked about traditional versus self publishing pro’s and cons. then there was a question and answer session afterwards. I learned quite a bit from the two hour lecture. I got his book “Writing Books for Fun, Fame, and Fortune”. Tonight I have started to look through the book to learn my about the publishing side of the business.

Again I wanted to congratulate my friend and fellow writer, Leslie Borghini A.K.A The Angel of Horror. This week she published her book “Angel Heat” which is sold on Amazon.com. Leslie is a talented writer who has taken the time out to help me with my writing. So I want to give her due respect for her accomplishment. I hope that she will put out more novels in the near future.

Getting to my projects, like I said in recent posts, I have cut the fat on my sci-fi story “A Change in Time”. I felt that the story had that “sagging middle” feel to it so I cut the middle out of it and now I have a leaner, faster paced story. At least it feels that way. And of course I will probably do some more revamping of the story once the first draft is done. I guess you can say a writer’s work is never done and the same goes for the journey that he or she is on.

Now as for tonight’s writing goals are concerned I will submit some more horror haiku’s to Necon E-books, write some regular poetry, work on my sci-fi story, check out when the Cheerios Spoonful of Stories will start. I liked participating in that contest and look forward to doing that again. I am going to check out the latest from Three Minute Fiction as well. I hope that they like what I submitted, but I am realistic as well. There is quite a bit of competition there. But I also am hopeful.

Well it’s getting late so I had better get with my other writing goals, so until next time…William out!

Good evening fellow writers!

I hope that your evening is going well. Mine sure is. I’m putting the finishing touches on my Three Minute Fiction submission. I hope to submit sometime tomorrow. It has been fun to say the least. Here is the link if you want to submit your story. I also checked to see if there is going to be a Cheerios Spoonful of Stories contest for this year and to my surprise there will be a contest. So I will be checking there when the contest will start. I will post that information here on the blog.

I had the pleasure of attending the Wellington critique group yesterday at the Wellington Library and while I did not read, I learned quite a bit from the others in attendance. It was quite a show and I want to thank Caryn and Lisa for a great time. I marvel at the talent that was present there and I do look forward to reading at the Boca Raton meeting that will be coming up in a couple of weeks. By the way I will be looking forward to Rik Feeney’s presentation about Publishing success at the Boca Raton meeting. That should be awesome.

I have been working on my sci-fi story “A Change in Time” these past few days. Basically doing a little tweaking of the time line so to speak. Mostly though I have been doing the brainstorm thing. I think I finally figured that I am some sort of combination of fly by the seat of my pants writing and outline guru. I like to set the foundation first and then do the writing. At least I have some idea of where I’m going!

One of my goals tonight, other than posting here, will be to update character profiles, finish and submit the Three Minute Fiction story, and to write three poems, any poetry form will do, but I am thinking I will do the haiku form tonight. So I guess I better get cracking! So until next time…William out!
